Meet Jester Jay

Jester plays an eclectic mix of rock, funk, Americana, blues, and reggae. His primary focus is on original songs, drawing on diverse influences like Elvis Costello. Carlos Santana, Jeff Tweedy, and Jack White, but his covers also range across time and genre, from Procol Harum’s “A Whiter Shade of Pale” and Dire Straits’ “Romeo And Juliet” to “Drive” by Incubus and “Evil Friends” by Portugal. The Man.
Jester learned “dedication to groove” playing in the Colorado Springs band Cool Runnings and it has guided his musical journey ever since. Collaboration and adapting in the moment to the crowd and fellow musicians is fundamental to his playing. Solo, he delivers a looped guitar and bass performance, but lately, his focus has been on “Jester’s Eclectic Pickup”, a shifting collective of players he’s put together for monthly shows at Purpose Brewing and other venues around Northern Colorado.
